actually 4TAA was the code, i went through and checked the ecu list aswell and couldnt find it. the guy said it was out of a series 2 manual xr6

I haven't heard of 4TAA but its a possibility. I had one out of a series II EF XR6 manual and it was 4TAD

chances are its a first gen 94 series one EF xr ecu.
If the S2 ecu died and was replaced with this remanufactured one then fair is fair, all you have to do now is trust that the guts of it is an actual XR, no way to tell and who really cares, as long as its manual and works. I've had 4TAB and 4TAC ecu's and really the revisions mean sfa for us public users
