Hi, need to know what the 6 bolt manual flywheel looks like for the EBII-EL

The wreckers here tell me they have one with 6 threaded holes and 3 locating holes, but i dont know if thats for an auto.?

If its a ford i6 flywheel, then its a manual, 6 threaded holes, 3 dowls = EB11-EL fly wheel. 3 threaded holes and 3 dowls would be pre EB11.

All wreckers should know the difference between a flex plate and a Flywheel.

I have one at home i could take a photo of it, but later on today

Andrew

Ok went down and took a couple pics. Is this the 6 bolt later model flywheel? Is there anything to look out for condition wise?

If it is, can i use the dowel locaters from the EA flywheel?

That looks like an EA one. You can see the three spots where the pressure plate was bolted on. Also EA flywheels do NOT have any dowels, EBII onwards have 3 locating dowels. As for the condition the ring gear looks worn, but you can get them reversed when you have it machined.

I picked up mine in my hick town for $66 - surely you should be able to get something from Brisbane for around that money (add postage of course).

Hows the ring gear, much meat left on the flywheel?

Postage would be a killer me thinks.

Nah, got it from a local wrecker. You can get the holes redrilled and tapped on the 3 bolt flywheel - but the existing 3 holes won't line up with the 6 bolt pressure plate, so this means the pressure plate needs to be repositioned, and 6 holes drilled and tapped - probably would be cheaper to get the proper 6 bolt item, and get the face machined and dowels replaced.

Try Ford for a new one, not that dear $140 from memory . If you get a second hand one and grind it its not that far off new anyway.

thanks damo i was searching through ebay a few times, if only i'd typed in the wrong spelling i would have found it !!!

Im kinda leaning towards a new one, depending on how much Fraud & Repco want for one. Might as well if its only $30-$40 dearer after postage etc.
