I have the big HLA's and shims in my rocker arms.. apparently these are the early EA style ones. EB onwards ought to have the smaller dia. HLA's and shims.. correct?

Could this be why my rockers make so much noise? And could this implicate my whole engine being EA or perhaps the head?
