Hi guys got to installing my davies craig (upper radiator hose) switch for a set of thermo's. The one that comes with the flat seal to sit in the upper radiator hose where it meets the radiator.
Anyway, what a great idea! ONLY problem is that my seal doesn't!!! (Seal that is!) I tightened my hose clamp as tight as it would go and then it let go! Anyone had this problem before? And if so can anyone help me to fix it? Cheers, Phil

Yeah they can be a bit of a pain. When I had mine I got rid of that rubber part and used silicon gasket maker instead. Seals everytime without problems, only thing is you have to let it dry for at least a couple of hours (if not overnight) before running the engine.

I think a lot of us have been down this path, it is a crap idea that Davies Craig could have fixed years ago, but they haven't.
I normally used the rubber bit and a bit of silastic, otherwise they normally end up leaking. I think there is a few in this forum that know of a block mounted switch that is available to do away with the dumb a*** idea of jamming it in between the top radiator hose.
