Hey guys.

I'm looking at fitting a 2-way pager system to my car.

I'm looking at this Pageguard one... PG-8000S. Look here http://www.caralarm.net/new_eng/index_e.htm

I've found a company that will install it with most of the features (remote start etc.) for around $280 and I'm paying about $150 for the system itself.

Anyone bought one of these el' cheapo no-branders?

What model you got?

And this may be a stupid question but, do they come with immobilisers? I didn't see one specifically mentioned in the features above. If I get the above model installed will my car then have an immobiliser? As the smartlock one is s**t

PS... Love your sig

mmine was an ebay job - can see the box from here, carscop brand. it did have an inbuilt immobilser, it's part of the remote start wiring section on mine.

i still reckon the best immobiliser is a switch hidden somewhere :P

I'm doing my own immobiliser as well. But it's always good to know that you have a little bit of protection whenever you press the button

What do you guys think of this one. About $100 more than most of the ebay no-branders but it's from a slightly better company and comes with a more manageable remote control as well as the pager... Your thoughts?

Otherwise, what else would you guys recommend?

The guy at Tisonics only recommends Viper or Python. Only problem is that the cheapest Viper system will cost as much as a Rhino system is installed!

to get the remote start working, you will need a smartlock bypass module to activate the ecu
