look in bseries.com. Some guy has done it and it was done by throwing a xr6t engine in with a turbo ECU. Seems to be the best choice as internals are stronger and compression is right. Ford can link the new ECU to your BEM. Your diff wont last too long under boost, and the driveshaft isn't really up to scratch. You will need to get a bigger cooler for your auto transmission. Bigger fuel pump as well. Thats about it.

Taking motor out and putting another motor in isn't really a hard task if you have ALL the tools...it's just really tedious to do and takes time.

Well you can run the XR6T motor in your XT for a while and if you only put the foot down once every so often, I reckon your driveline should hold up. If you're heavy footed...upgrade the driveline first then get the engine.

phong =P~

well i reckon the driveline will last surprisingly a lot longer than what we would all think...having trouble sourcing parts to do this but dont see why it shouldnt go ahead

Why not get an XR6T and fit it with an XT trim and drivetrain, it'll cost about the same for the same result.

Ill sell you a turbo, manifold, water and oil lines, heat sheilding for $2500. Its all from an XR6T.

The turbo has had the wastegate ported and a larger swing valve fitted for better boost control.

You would need to source a cooler and piping and get your exhaust done to match. Then take it to a good tuner and have an edit fitted.

Should come in at under $5k.

An option as mentioned is to put the XR6T motor in, the NA ecu can be flashed to turbo, not sure about the boost sensor under the battery, maybe there is wiring for it in the loom already?? Or just run without it using edit tune.
Your only gonna get 250wkws from this basic swap over, so if your like most of us you'll want heaps more. So you'll be changing injectors, pumps ect.

What would I do?

BF2 bottom end from ford, new. ( 400wkw s is safe on these ) $2500ish
Whack your NA head on it.
Seimens 660cc injectors $400
Cappa box & custom tune $1000 (depending on tune shop)
Grab a stock exmanifold, $500 ( but might take some searching)
4 inch dump pipe, 4 inch cat, combine this with a stock XR6T exhaust.
044 pump and surge tank, $500ish
RAPIDsystems FMIC & piping kit $1000
RAPIDsystems CAI & KN filter $335
Remove the butterflys from NA manifold, or a aftermarket plenum

Thats about 6500 there, spend the rest on a XR6T or XR8 LSD
And look at getting the auto beefed up, 3500 (or theres a used one around for less )

With some good tight spending you can do all that for 10k and have a total sleeper in the 11s or 10s if you sort it and drive it right.

Cheers
Chris
