Point Taken..
I then ask this question... Why? If it has any perfomance benefits, let me know. My car starts dropping power at 5750 and rev limits at 6000. (accordiing to my dyno readout) |

Undo your passenger side kick panel, remove your ECU and chuck it off a cliff, there you go , no rev limiter.
A rev limiter is put in to stop things from going bang. If however you have had an engine rebuilt stronger, phone Chiptorque and spend $650.00 on a chip that will remove the rev limiter, sign off on the liability paperwork and away you go. If you don't want to spend $650.00 or more, you have no chance of getting rid of the rev limiter.

If your dyno graph says power is dropping off at 5700rpm, then you dont need to remove the limiter. If it is still making power and climbing by the limiter then remove it. Removeing it now will not affect the way it makes power, and you will find power drops off even further after the limiter.

While we're on the subject fellas, what limitations are on XR6 ECUs, both auto and manual?

He's typing in all caps, so he's probably 15-17. So I'll assume the car is standard or almost standard.
Power drops off before the rev limiter, so there is no point in removing it. |
