hi there guys, i have a mate that just bought a 93 model ed fairmont wagon. its a 4.0 six with auto, it also has the smart lock system. he is haveing problems starting it. there is power to the starter motor but it wont turn, we have changed the starter but no go, we have changed the starter relay and still no go, we have also changed the smart lock modulator with no avail. it has power to the starter but it just wont turn over, i was wondering if there is anyone that can help me and could possibly no what the problem is, u can contact me by my email address. thanks all and a merry xmas to u all.

you might have to override the smart lock system

all accessories to the of position and the ign to the on position

leave for 30 min this will allow the car to learn the re learn the codes for the system

when the operation is complete the door locks will cycle twice

then start the car you have 30 sec to do this approx

note

check the interior light fuse and bulb first as they will not let the car be started (fuse mostly)
