How's It goin people, lowered the car last year to 1 step lower than Xr (on an Ef) just wondering what people would or could recommend as good bushes to put on the suspension arms etc. Cos there shot...

rubber ones give better ride quality and dont last as long

nolathane harsher rides but better control and usually last longer, and dont tend to squeak if you grease em properly when u install

definitely nolothane..... better suspension control, and IMO, the slightly harsher ride/increased road noise is worth it

The funny thing about suspension is that there is something called a spring which compresses. Why car companies put rubber bushes in cars to do the job of the spring is beyond me.

Just like they reccomend 32psi in the tyres to make the ride softer at the expense of handling. Go figure.

I believe nolothane is a racing grade bush. You can get neoprene and another one which I forget the name of.

Any plastic ones are better than original IMHO, and the slight increase in ride harshness will not be noticable compared to the increase you got from lowering/stiffening the suspension.

While you're at it, put at least 40psi in your tyres :-)

Hmm, are the bushes that hard to do, since I'll be getting new discs anyways, maybe it's worth changing the bushes too... It's squeaking like all buggery up the front, and really slams into the bumps in the road. (Train tracks, speed bumps, all the fun stuff like that!)

make sure you do the castor/radius rod ones, they can be a b**ch, but you will find everything so much better once they are done .

Yeah, quite often a power steering leak or any oil gets onto the standard bushes at the front, they are finished, a lot of people don't worry about them, but they are quite inportant.

so right and will make the car feel "tighter" in the front and also give better feedback to you as the driver
