Im installing a V8 into the ute and pulled the i6 T5 out and can see the bellhousing is different to the 8 T5 what else is different would the spline be different, is the ratio different what about the slave cylinder on different sides so would I have to buy a different clutch cable now, Thanx for you help people

Everything is different, spline, input shaft length, helix angle on the gears, everything.
6 boxes are nothing like the stronger V8 box.

Yea sweet thanx for that yea thought there was a difference with the 2, got the V8 box for right price, what about cluch cable whats go with that now that the v8 slae cylinder is on drivers side to original 6 which is pasanger side, just in process what else need to do the V8 change, Thanx ELGT

As noted above The V8 and I6 input shafts are different lengths making it uneconomic to do a conversion in that direction unless you can get hold of a donar box cheap.

offered a box for nothing and tailshaft, just need engine mounts not sure what 1's i need for the XH not sure if its the EF/EL type of EB/ED also

I 6 T5 goes straight in behind a clevo with bellhousing from dellow, v8 t5 wont

I had a T5 conversion from my car John which i sold off ages ago

Would of been great if i still had it so you can buy

EL 6 cylinder mounts, with the V8 brackets on them. when i looked at my xr8 while i had my 6 cylinder still, they were identical from the mounts down. so just use the ones you have. you just need the mounts to block brackets then the 8 will bolt in

Thanx for the reply guys, yea I got some mounts in shed im sure there from an EF-EL xr8 so they will bolt up to the original mounts so ill see if they go together then if thats right what ur saying Trikee...

yeah its right. i've replaced an engine mount on the xr8. i just went and got one out of a 6 cylinder. identical mounts.
