E2 error will affect the AC 100%

It blends the AC cold air with the Heater core.

Fix this first, it may resolve your problem.

Hychill is located in Kilsyth.

Not necessarily - make sure the CC dash unit plugs are clicked in properly.
Other thing is the blend door motor runs a variable resistor - from the CC doco, you can identify the 5 plug wires on the CCunit plugs, cycle the motor using 12v, and measure the output with a basic meter (with dash in). If alls okay, the BDM is not at fault, it's likely to be a contact issue.
All of this is not too hard, plus the bits you remove would need to be done if the dash had to come out anyway.
The CC diagnostic doco covers monitor mode, where you can view all the CC sensors outputs, real time. You can check if your evaporator is getting cold enough - mine goes down to 8 deg C, which is cold.
So a bit of research may save you a lot of work.
