got an email from diyautotune with some questions for me. they wanted to confirm that what they sent me was going to be compatible with the vehicle i am installing it in (being they dont have falcons in usa). a great start to the order and great customer service (it would all come to a screeeching halt if what i received would not do what i need it to do).
they recommended i add a couple extra controllers (vb921 ignition modules about $7.00US each) for the coils (kit comes with one already) and a pwm iac control valve (MK-PWMIAC about $8.00US). shipment on the way!

nice nice
hope it all works out for you i really wish the the MS2 did seqential injection and coil packs as that i think is what stopped me from gettign it for the au

it does do coil packs- with either the controllers i added to the order, or an edis6 module (magna v6 if i read right in another thread?)

My ms2 was originally built by mistake for coilpack and had to be tweaked to work with a dizzy, so must do both me thinks

no not sequential yet. batch only
im no expert on sequential, but i found this in their faq section: "Sequential injection attempts to only spray fuel while the intake valve is open for the cylinder that is about to fire, which in most cases is only possible at very low engine speeds between idle and low speed cruising. It can have minor benefits in emissions and fuel economy at these low engine speeds. Batch injection (which is what the current gen MS does) does not attempt to spray only when the valve is open as it's nearly pointless, particularly for more performance oriented applications. The fact is that at higher engine speeds 99% of sequential systems (exceptions being race only systems with super massive injectors) cannot spray all of the fuel needed while the valve is open anyways, and sprays it both while the valve is opened and closed, very much like a batch system such as the MS. There is no significant performance difference with a sequential system over a batch system, there can be minor emissions and fuel economy benefits at very low speeds though...."

I think mine is running seqential injection to deal with the 75mm Tb, might be why there is a slight surge at 100kmh with 0 throttle.
I really need a laptop or 30m of cable to see what is going on. |

Swine, I am tipping your MS isn't running sequential.
I wouldnt be too worried about sequential, as far as you are concerned it isonly to improve low speed drivability and emmisions. |

update time!!!
i have had my ms11 built for a while nowbut have been waiting for a spare week to put it in the car. i'm starting with fuel only, like stockstandard did, and when that is up and running will add spark into the mix. the kit was easy as to build. took about 8 hours as i had done no homework prior to getting the kit in front of me. i did not bother building a stim and imo unless you dont follow the easy to understand instructions it is all pretty straight forward. i have wired the loom into my car and done all the mechanical mods i need which included (once again copied stockstandards idea) putting an ea lower thermostat housing in which has an extra mounting hole for an extra coolant temp sensor so i didnt have to share sensors with the eecv. so far i have cut the wires i need for fuel only from the eecv and wired to the ms11 loom, leaving any ignition related wires untouched for now. i have been configuring the program to run the ms11 for a few hours now, and have found it to be not too difficult if you read all the related material (there are links all over the place and this takes alot of time) and take your time for it all to sink in. the biggest problem i have encountered is trying to get a link from my laptop to the ms11, as it does not have a serial port and a usb- serial adaptor aparently often does not work. this is the case with mine. i will try a different adaptor tommorow. keep youz posted on how it goes when the old girl starts

ok got the laptop and the ms11 talking. imo some of the setup/ configuration instructions are a bit cryptic. if any one is interested in tackling the project for themselves, im happy to advise along the way as ive done a MOUNTAIN of research and have a pretty good handle on it.
now just need to finish loading settings to ms and in the car it goes! cheers

hey keep us updated...
im considering it myself just a couple of questions 1. is it possible to tune it with a couple of differnt maps...ie low octane/high octane 2. how much has it cost roughly so far?

im considering it myself just a couple of questions 1. is it possible to tune it with a couple of differnt maps...ie low octane/high octane 2. how much has it cost roughly so far? a couple of tunes? try a couple of million. all you do is set the parameters you want for high octane/ racing fuel etc (in the fuel ve table/ afr's etc) in the ms software, and 'burn' it to the ms when its hooked up to your pc/laptop. it takes, oh... i dont know a millionth of a second to burn the info to the ms. thats the beauty of this set up. im installing a carputer so i can stop on the side of the road and tune the car (timing, afr's, ve's et) and go again. cost? about $400 so far. thats with me doing everything and no labour charges. i also have to get a wideband ego sensor (highly recommended) which will be around $300. any more questions im happy to help. go for it!!!
