gday guys, a mate of mine has got an xd falcon sedan and would like to upgrade the diff, will the diff out of a xh or e-series wagon bolt strait in or are there mods required????

Will bolt straight up, later diffs EF/L will require different handbrake cable. Get diff from EBII onwards, as are stronger. You will need to change pinion flange, or use the tailshaft from the E series car, you will see what I mean when you look at them.

Also caution of brake line threads, I think thats around the time of Imperial to metric change.
IE: body plumbing will me imperial, new diff will be metric, easy fix for pirtek. or try to salvage your old lines.

Put a 9 inch in it Why, 4 pinion BW is as good as a 9 inch in most circumstances, and looked after, will handle 500hp all day. 9 inch is just too bloody heavy for the gain. |

old mate with the car has spent over 10Grand in the last 6 months on paint and 351c so funds are a little low and the handbrake has been applied so no 9 inch !!! is it possible to swap the flange from the xd diff to the xh diff???

everyone that has answered you has forgotton that xd have leaf springs and xe and later all have coils so they won't bolt up unless you get one out of a ute or pannel van because they still run leafs

He did specify 'wagon' hence leaf springs were already on the table.
