my diff is leaking! .. its a lsd out of a ea 2.92.. i have since put it into my xf and occasionally notice a diff oil smell.. low and behold i noticed yesterday that the inside of the passenger side rim is full of oil, there is a nice spray of oil all over the bottom of my car (being flung off the wheel)...

needless to say this concerns me.. ive been told it is the seal to the axel housing,, where is the best place to get a seal kit from? also how do i go about removing the bearing etc? i dont have a press..

this needs to be fixed asap as i need my car for work/hoooning around...

Your AXLE, seal is easy, pull the axle out, might as well repack the bearing while your there.

fine axle! lol.. does this require the bearing to be removed? i havent pulled the axle out yet as the car is kind of being painted.. thats when i noticed..

You don't need to remove the bearing unless it is shagged! Worth repacking it with grease though.

if the same as my dad eb then a new axle seal will require a new bearing!

on the axle closet to the disk is the seal then the bearing the bearing has to come off to fit a new seal and when u take the bearin off u f**k it uo real bad so a new one has to go one

hella new bearing kit ( includes bearing/seal ) about $40

ok, ill have to pull it out and have a look,, cheers for the info guys
