I purchased the Thermo Tec Header Manifold Blanket 14003 (or TT-14003 from Rocket Industries) ( http://www.thermotec.com/product_detail.php?prd_id=7 ) and have just finished installing it. Havn't had a chance to drive the car yet, but it'll get worn in this evening as I'm heading up the coast (about 250kms).

Easy enough to install although I can't say I'm overly impressed with the crimp and wire used, they work, just seems a bit crued.
I used less than half of the stuff to cover the top of my Pacemaker competition extractors. 1 pack will easily do two SOHC exhaust manifolds (you'd probably need a single pack to yourself if you wanted to cover the entire manifold right down to cat converter but it'd be easier to use that header wrap tape stuff then).

I've just got it sitting over the top side of the exhaust manifold - to hopefully stop heat from rising up to were the LPG converter is above the extractors. The underside is not covered to hopefully allow some cooling from air passing under the vehicle.

The one photo shows the left over I had after installing on my car. And the other shows it covered by my stainless steel heat shield.

It sure needs the stainless cover to keep it looking so good. It's good you've got plenty left over if one layer isn't enough and you'll know that by the end of 250km.
I''m sure it will be an improvement and plenty of us will be waiting to see if one or two layers are required to stop the melting dramas.
