anyone got any ideas on how to fix a leak from the metal pipe that leaves the water pump under the exhaust manifold around the rear of the engine to the heater. Whilst replacing welsh plugs i have obvoisly hit it under cylinder one near ps pump, and after putting it all back together i fire the car up to find coolant leaking from it. i was gonna hose and clamp it but its impossible due to the heat from exhaust and i would have to remove pipe that also looks next to impossible. Any ideas would be appreciated. Cheers

Could be the o-ring at the pump end.
A new pipe is around $35 from ford. Theres a few mounting points for it, One under cylinder 2, one at the end of the block (bell housing bolt) and one on the passenger side. If youre replacing the o-ring, slap a bit of 3bond on it also.

Yep, they are a pain to do. Involves removing the exhaust manifold, starter motor, dropping the g'box crossmember so the box can come down to give clearance to get the pipe out, and the new one in.
Have fun.....lol

IIRC when I did the BBM conversion on my XH, I changed that pipe with the exhaust and inlet manifolds pulled back or the inlet was removed.
If you go that path, replace all your heater hoses under the inlet manifold - they'll probably be pretty old.

if the hole is close to the water pump fraud sell an adaptor piece that allows you to cut the existing pipe amd fit new end bit
this is normally for when the end that fits into the waterpump is corroded |
