Would anybody know where i can get a cheaper supercharger bracket and pulley setup to suit an eb mpfi? i grabed this kit of ebay (yeah i know) and the bracket is off something completely different. BTW its a powerdyne. Bloody CAPA want almost a $1000 for the bracket and $500 for the pulley! :?

They are the only ones who do it.

If you don't want to bend over and pay it, get a few bits of cardboard, mdf and start making templates and trial versions up. You'll have probs with belt lengths and tensioners and wrap around the belts, but with enough pics off the net available, you should be pretty close. A weekend and you should have a good template.

I bent over and paid for the one in my Falcon. It set me back 1800 odd for all the tensioners, pulleys x2, blower pulley, 2 belts, all the associated bolts, washers and instructions, I'm glad I made that purchase.

I'd rather work a full week with a bit of overtime to pay for it and fit it on the weekend with no hassles, then lie under the bonnet mucking around with templates and not getting anything done due to fustration and beers.

yeah they have a bit of a monopoly on the market dont they. I have another motor that i am currently rebuilding so getting under the bonnet isnt a prob but i would really like to piss the a/c compressor off and use that belt to run it, although i would need to run an ef/el manifold on mine so i could get the supercharger back far enough because of the throttle body on my model. that also depends on if i can get the height clearance under it.

What the hell? are they both gold plated? :o

You could buy the raw materials and machine one for less than that!

Come to think of it you could probably get somemone to CNC a bracket 8-)

It does seem a bit rich, but if someone came into my workshop and said I needed a bracket can you whip one up for me? I would have to charge accordingly, at $60 an hour it'd cost more than a grand with all the prototypes that has to be made, there is heaps of buggering about with the 5.0l bracket with presses and spacers as well, than you have to get the pulleys lined up so it has to be spaced out right.

I'd buy the bracket, One weekend and it'll be hooked up, afterall time is money.

I'd be happy to pay that much for the CAPA bracket if I hadn't seen the amount of sledgehammering that has to be done to the shock tower.

I'm still waiting on my bracket and pulleys, didn't go through CAPA but the bracket is similar.
Plus I lent my blower to some other kent cause he did the seal on his input shaft :P
