The ELGT headers will fit because the ELGT had GT40Ps and the EL XR8 series 2 had ELGT headers on E7 heads.
Mine shouldn't been an issue when I switch the heads when they arrive. |

EB and EL GT's didn't have GT40p's they had GT40's. GT40's have same plug angle as E7's. But i've heard that the GT headers fit on the GT40p's no probs with good clearance for spark plugs.

http://www.powerheads.com/SB50.html Personally I go for an aftermarket ally set but I think for a 4wd where your main concern is low end torque, mildy ported E7's will be good but it's a case of weigh up the cost. What is your engine man going to charge for porting and hardware for the E7's? |

He quoted me $800 fully rebuilt and ported. Paying cash but.
Thanx for that info XR9UTE. It is very helpful. Especially the bit about higher airspeed due to smaller ports. Very important in chasing low range torque. The fourby is in getting the extractors built as we speak so I will see how it all pans out.

Does the $800 include bigger single groove valves,springs and good quality machined locks and retainers?
If your headers are being built to suit E7's you'll certainly have a s**t load of aftermarket heads to choose from if you decide to go that way. |

He reckons so. I will wait and see what happens. The engine work wont be happening for quite a while yet. It really depends on how the truck goes once the new extractors are on it on what gets done.
I looked at it this afternoon and the extractors look awesome. Pick it up tomorrow morning so all shall be revealed then.
