does anyone have any advice fitting a double din player into an AUII fairmont ghia? i recently purchased one from JB hi-fi and booked to get it fitted, only to find out on the day that it apparently wont fit, or rather, is too difficult for their guys to fit it. anyone know why, and more importantly, can it be done?

thats what i was thinking! he crapped on about some taper down the bottom and brackets. i think he just too lazy to do it, he was a VERY dodgy lookin character. on second thoughts, i glad he didnt touch my car

haha there cant be a taper at all
the DIN is a internatinal unit of measure for head units etc
so a double DIN here in aus is the same width and height i would say depth may vary a bit but no much as in europe

the double din fit fine! had some issues removing my old one (broke it) and some wiring diagrams werent too helpful (couldve labeled the wires better) but all in all it fits. not very snug, but good enough till i can fix it up. ill post pics soon.

the taper he referred to was the way the console slants inwards at the bottom. and it wasnt an issue at all. i think i might take it back and show the d***head
