I've fitted a towbar to my ED and now I'm looking for the wiring/plug. There is a plug which I presume to be for the towbar wiring near the wiring for the right tail light.....Would this be where the towbar wiring plugs into?

yeah that was where mine is (AU3 falcon tho)

well - I noticed Pick'n'payless here in blacktown had a couple.

You could always just cut the wiring and do it using a new connector : I just picked up a narva 8-way connector from Repco.

Yeah I would love to have used the factory wiring, however mine had corrosion in the connectors, and the *previous* installer used quick-crimps (ARGH!)

Be carefull - one of the wires going to that connector is The Reverse Wire. It goes to the Aux Brake wire in the 7 pin connector. If you are towing a trailer with Electric Brakes then whenever you put the car in Reverse the electric trailer brakes will apply and hold. Makes reversing *difficult*

I got around that in the last car by simply removing that pin from the connector and taping it up.

Cheers for the info Nigel. The aux brake wire, What colour is it? It wouldn't happen to be white with a red trace would it?

Your looking at Blue in the Trailer connector (pin 5 on a flat 7 plug).

I dont know what colour it is in the connector in the car - but its the same as the one going to the reverse light in the boot

Hey just a suggestion but how about just drop by a wreckers and knock one one off, saves crimping and s**t, thats where I'm planning to get mine, but don't make the mistake of taking something off and expecting it to be there still, hehe. Atleast the towbar only cost me 20.
