Started off i had to take the rocker cover off ages ago. 3 weeks later i replaced the oxy sensor and reset the ecu. the next day the car did some really wierd stuff at start up and was stalling out all over the place.

it got better after a while (days) and couldnt put a finger on it.

i replaced the dissy, coil, leads, plugs, map (borrowed) and a few other things and couldnt find it. and the bank account was down $700

get under the bonnet thismorning and start checking the vac lines again. pulled the 2 inch line off the fuel pressure regulator and sucked on it to see it it held. the thing has a huge gash in it where it meets to the nipple. couldnt even see it till i stretched the pipe.

new pipe on and the car seems to be behaving its self well. an improvment, but not perfection yet.

wondering how many other people have unwittingly got this problem? i got a feeling this may be a REALLY common problem as the line isnt a great size for the job its needed for.

if you reset the ECU the car will run like crap for a week or so, you have to teach it how to behave again, hence the stalling

yep, i recently inspected all the hoses, and fair enough the rubber hose on top of the regulator had a big hole where it comes off the metal fitting.

So i bought and cut off a longer piece so it wasnt on such an angle as before. Ive heard the car can run lean with that hose damaged?

anyone got as picture of the offending hose, for us dummies that don't know which one you speak of.

remove the intake, and look at the end of the fuel rail at the firewall. You will see a round u.f.o. looking thing with a hose coming off the top off it.

This is of a log manifold setup, but you should recognize it on a BBM engine.

green is the injector rail. red is where it is (on the end of the rail) it looks like a very small version of the blue circled object. has a 5mm piece of rubber on top going to the brake booster line. check ALL your vac lines to see if they hold pressure. the diaphram could also be punchered, suck on the line while the engines running. any strong smell / taste of fuel and it needs replacing.

i think it looks a lot different to that. but i cant remember
