no wonder most fords go like s**t because no one know f all about egr valves! maybe if someone knew something they would go a hellva lot better & holden might not be floggin our a*** so much f these new cars my ol 77 would kick there a***......

I agree. My 97 Fairlane was runnin like s**t after running so good for so long, found that the EGR was stuck shut. Cleaned the f**k up, runs better but still s**t. Reason is because the EGR valve still isn't opening and closing like a brand new one. So I am buying a new one and f**k off the old EGR. I will let you know how I went. But yes, if you are buying a Ford V8 (injected). Check the EGR operation, it can turn a smile into a frown in an instant.

EGR can play a major part in how the engine goes exspecially efi engines you can try a blanking plate inbetween EGR and manifold

If it has f uck all to do with how an engine goes, how come my c unting Fairlane was running like s**t until I swapped it over with another EGR (Thanks FTG Autosalvage)?? The c unting car miraculously doesn't fu ckin stall at the lights anymore, and the pinging is gone. That s**t sorta contributes to how an engine goes. Since the EGR is a vital part of emissions control in fuel injected engines, if it fu cks out, so does your car. Fu ck fuel injection, I am gonna get back into a real ford. An old carby 351 with either straight LPG or fu ckin heads adapted for Unleaded.

This is true at 'Wide Open Throttle', as it is not used. There is EGR information out there, if you look. The search function is a good idea... Other forums also have plenty of information.

So how long do I have to wait for it to FU as I turfed the EGR probably 8 years ago and my engine's still running perfect . |
