hi, all
Since i did the conversion from ED intake to EL on me XR i have been chaseing an XR6 fuel pressure reg, i went to ford 2 many $$$$'s so i was having a look around at work and stumbled across the one for a ecotec V6, they have a pressure release of 350kpa and with a little modification they bolt streight on to the injector rail... all i did was slotted the hole it fitted up sweet as.. just needed to cut the nut off the return hose push it on and fit a hose clamp, i've been driving it round for a couple of days now and have had no fuel leaks... nice little mod if any one's interested...

Any place that sells Bosch parts (e.g. Repco) should've been able to order you in a proper unit.

Nice mod, but increasing the fuel pressure is the last thing you want to do unless you can retune the ecu.

Yeah like stockstandard said..
Increasing the fuel pressure means for a given injector opening time there will be more fuel going in.. So the extra pressure will be making it run richer depending on how smart the ford ECU is.. |

Can't he run an EL XR6 ECU? That'll be set up for the higher pressure fuel regulator.

thats set up for 300kpa, and even still xr6's get more power if they run a standard 275kpa reg.

Yeah... is that for real?

If you run an AU fuel rail, you can easily obtain a 3.5Bar reg

I'm just deciding wether to swap my EL xr reg onto my EF Mont (Mild work) for some torque increase and a bit of a test......Now if the XR's make 'more' power using a stock reg why did'nt FoMoCo fit one then??? |

safety, the 275kpa reg runs it leaner, therefore more power

Hmmm interesting and true! Thay do say 'factory' settings are always rich!!! Dahm....was hoping to pick up my low response alot.....Think i still gotta try it anyways just for the fun of it.....And actually my theory/reason was that i have a modded head(more air flow) and Wade 1604 adv. 4 degs so might just need a bit more fuel to match the air flow..... Plus injectors atomise better at higher pressures......I'm still thinking this 'will' work......Also an 'original/old reg won't be as good as a new or higher pressure one.........Will let you know how it GO'S!!!
