morning all.

lately i've nearly been caught out by my fuel gauge, I would start it up and the reading would be say 1/4 tank full.

after about 10-15mins driving I would look down and I would be almost out of gas.

I know the gauges jump when you start the car but lately it has taken forever for the fuel to get to its correct position.

Also I've noticed the fuel heads downwards when the temp gauge rises and vice versa.

I've checked my fuel cap and the o-ring is sloped not square and It never goes psssh when i open the cap. Should there be pressure in the tank and go ""psssssh"" when you open it?? There doesnt seem to be much spring behind the oring or is this normal?

thanks in advance
