Hello people, :D

This is not so much a modification than a question to assist me in determining what is causing an error in the trip computer for average litres per 100 km. I have replaced the dash unit with a new one and the error persists. When resetting the average litres per 100 km (when filling the tank) the unit resets to 1.4 litres per 100 km instead of 0.0 litres per 100 km. The reading taken of the past litres per 100 km is also out by anything between +1 and +2.5 litres per 100 km. I know this is correct because I have the formula for working out consumption on my laptop and it has never matched what the trip computer says.

Firstly - where does the trip computer gather the data for fuel consumption from ? Does anyone have the technical website for VDO, the manufacturers of the trip computer for Ford ?

The trip computer gathers its data from a data line pin on the instrument cluster. This is from pin 14 on the right hand side instrument cluster connector to pin 1 on the trip computer (on EF/EL - you didn't mention which model).

Re: the second question, the Australian website is {DESCRIPTION}
