just got my new AU XR8 and was thinking of putting in an alarm seeing as my last one had it.

Is there any advantages of an aftermarket alarm around the $400-$500 mark over the ford security?

if so which would be best suited to the falc?

thanks guys

The AUs can be opened pretty easy just a bit harder to drive them away so yeah a good after market alarm would be a good idea.

try and source an original Tickford alarm, they plug straight in.

I'd skip a factory ford alarm, i've heard bad things about them.

You can get aftermarket alarms that program up to the freuency of the central locking buttons anyway.

Thats what i got and it cost me $280 fitted because I didn't have to buy an extra remote, if not it would've been around $350 fitted.

2 motion detectors, seperate boot release and hood realease switches and it goes off if you unplug the battery without turning it off first.

Can't remember what brand tho. Got it from Car Stereo City in Perth
