Yeah fair enough, but you need constant vacume for the heater controls so why not hook up the brake booster to that also? would help for burnouts under boost too!

im boosting my car at the moment, does something have to be done about the heater controls, or is it fine just leaving it. I think i also read that theres a valve in there that only allows vaccum and no boost.

I've wondered the same thing while fitting 14.3psi into my XR8 too, but I think they get the required vaccuum by air velocity past the hose fitting?
Is this correct cos I'm not quite ready for the road, but dont want any drama's on test day! cheers kenny

pressure is pressure, your not going to have velocity going past a fitting.
brake boosters and heater controls have 1 way valves from standard. u wont have a problem, just leave it as is, its been done 1000's of times.

f**k sake!
how much time do u think u will be spending f**k around with the heater controls while on boost? and the brakes will work exactly the same at full throttle as they did b4 at full throttle, remember an na should have no vac at wot its the biggest non issue ever when it comes to turboing an e series why does everyone get so hung up on it? |

cos its the times when not on full throttle when you need the brakes!

When you get off the throttle the butterfly closes and voila! vacuum in the manifold just when you need it for the brakes. Clever eh? Actually a bit more than that, the booster stores enough vacuum for a few brake applications and has a 1-way valve so it never gets pressure, it just gets sucked every time you close the throttle.
The vent controls have a vacuum tank and a 1-way valve as well, so the tank never gets pressure and also stores some vacuum. So as others have said it's fine to leave it stock. I guess you know you'll have to change the PCV line though?

Brake booster stores some vacum in it aswell, so if there's no vacum going to it then it's still usable once or twice.

why does everyone get so hung up on it? Probably because ppl post replies saying only "leave it" without explaining how it works...

The tube that tees off from the intake before the throttle body. The intake end needs to be relocated to between the turbo/SC and air filter and the factory tee sealed off. Otherwise the PCV system will get pressure instead of vacuum.
