Hi all, ive got a EL XR6 that im using as a run around and ive just replaced the TFI module on the side of the dissy. Anyhow i marked the posiion on the dissy to get a ruff guesstament on where it needs to go but i need to know where to set the timing too when using the light as it only has a tdc mark. is the thickness of the plate coming of the block 10deg? i dont wana buy a book for the car as i wont be needing it long. any help would be appriciated.

To set the timing, one needs to put the ecu into "learn" mode. This is done by connecting the A and B teminals in the plug thing in your fuse box.

Best to buy a manual, maybe you could sell it on e-bay later?? :D

As above ive put it in diagnostic mode, but im just not sure where the line is on the timing cover? i can see the big pointer for top dead centre and the mark on the harmonic balancer but just dont know where and how much before top dead centre the timing should be. Was just hope'n some of you EL boys might know?

Cheers, thanks for your help Ive set it to what i think might be 10deg (just going off what my EB is). But ill give 0 a go. She just seems to running out of revs above 4500 and i was suspecting i may of adjusted my timing wrong.
