as the subject says i have a problem, this being i cant lock my car the central locking has died or something now the only protection i have is the fact i can only lock the front 2 doors by key leaving the back doors wide and free to steal all my s**t.\
has this happened to anybody else i dnt really wana go to a auto leccy and them charge me for a days labour just to say a motor has died or something any ideas? |

The usual cause for the death of the central locking is the demise of an atuator. However, there is another cause: In the left hand "B" pillar, down the bottom, under the carpet, inside the pillar, is a connector which contains a lot of the c/l wiring. This can become corroded, and thus the c/l wont work.
To get at it the best bet is to remove the seat, and the seat belt, and the trim on the "B" pillar. Try that first. Good luck

yep, it pops up every now and then. The "B" pillar is prone to getting water inside it, thus the corosion of the terminals.
Other than that, it is a case of pulling all the door trims off, disconnecting each actuator one at a a time, and finding out which one is causing the problem. When you disconnect the faulty one, the rest will work (hopefully) |

yeh i tried to check the wiring in the drivers side door but couldnt get the test light to show any power going to it where is the main power board or what eva its called for the central locking?

I' not sure, but I think it goes thru the fuse box. I will check on my wiring diagram later today, and if you don't get a reply, I will see what I can find.
If you can't get any power, have you checked your fuses? They are under the dashboard panel in front of your right knee when sitting in the drivers seat |

Sometimes the door locks themselves are the problem too. Check them for ease of operation.
They can stuff up from the hinges wearing and the door drops, hitting the striker. Another I have seen is a faulty connection on the door harness where the actuator plugs into it. Antother, is if they haven't been replaced already, all the actuators, replace them. The original units will have an 87DA number, and the updated units will have 96DA on them, they have a better brake system inside.
