Hey everyone, i just bought this car that has an alarm and an immobiliser that is hooked right into the existing door system.
It only has a trigger for the bonnet. Its got a black siren under the bonnet with a key in the back, i have keys to it and i can turn it on and off. Today i took out the spark plugs, washed them and regapped them, put them back in, now the immobiliser seems to have kicked in, nothing happens when i turn the key, nothing even lights up, the headlights dont even turn on (with the alarm on or off). Now i have tried turning it off, then back on, then off again, all with the bonnet closed, ignition off and on and still nothing, i cant get the bugger to start.. Does anyone have any ideas, maybe it would help if i could get apicture of the unit. I'd be happy to just remove it, stupid thing.. Maybe RAVC can come and get it working for me, i am a paid member so Thanks in advance everyone Matt

The battery's not flat or the terminals arent all corroded? |

No the battery is fine and the terminals should not be a problem.
Thanks Matt

IS there any power going to the alarm though? Coule a loose wire or blown fuse? Mine did the same when installing it...

Thanks Matt If the headlights are not working, i really dont think it is a problem with the alarm / immob. |

i had a similar problem.
happened to me twice in 3 days. my remote was faulty and it wasn't turning the imobilisor on/off properly. i locked/reopened the car with the key instead of the remote and got it working. later on i found out the the main wiring in the engine was faulty. had that replaced for around $70 at auto electrician. and hasn't happened since.
