its what i'm doing, easiest to go with a log intake though much easier than the BBM on the EFs and ELs.

its probly goes better because of the low down power from the BBM as said above, and i think they made better flowing heads as they went through the series

ea-falcon,
Seeing your calling for suggestions, I'll offer the following: I have a low klm EL engine in my EB2 with log manifold, EL fans and ELXR6 diff. It goes like the clappers, an EF/EL with BBM goes better down low. As a consequence of this experience I am helping a fellow member put a complete EL engine into his EB, which I helped pull from a write-off today. He bought this engine at a very good price and it's an excellent unit. In our opinion it is quicker, easier, cheaper and therefore smarter to take the complete EL engine out and [using the EL ECU] wre it in with the EB loom using the method Troyman used for his AU conversion. In one package he gets a great improvement in performance, a 100 amp alternator, elec fans, better fuel maps, knock sensor, BBM, serpentine belt setup, EL aircon compressor, distributor etc all already fitted and known to be working. All this for only a few minutes extra time over an ordinary EB engine install, adding some wires and setting up the vacuum switch. You can of course use the EF in the same way, except you'll have to fit a dissy, coil, EL ECU and remove a couple of things. I suggest you sell the conversion you have in the shed and buy a low klm EL already going well and stick it in. Almost no extra work required. Don't forget to get the BBM vacuum valve behind the washer bottle and the vacuum hose distributor next to it, the BBM won't work properly without them, also the accel pedal and cable. I attach a pic of the work in progress, the engine is now out, took 2 of us less than an hour. As I found, they go great with the log setup, they go better with the BBM [properly done]. The EF's the same, just a little more work. Cheers, Paul
