Hey everyone, the other week i hired a trailer and since it was fitted (and once removed) the indicators and reverse lights are playing tricks.

Its 98 model Futura, as soon as the trailer was hooked up:
-When in reverse the left indicator holds on, no flashing.
-When indicating left, hazards come on and so do the reversing lights.
(This is hilarious as your doing 60 around a bend, ppl think youve slipped the lever into reverse)

But i want to fix this so i can get a roadworthy

Im sure this has happened so someone (or something similar), how do we go about fixing this?

Sounds like you might have fused some of the wiring in the plug harness on your car together. Remove the fuse for your reversing lights and see if the indicators operate correctly, and check if your reversing lights flash. If this is the case you might need a trip to the auto elec's to sort out the problem.

Hmm, Pete the mechanic removed the wiring from the trailer connector and it was still acting up..
He says its unlikely its a fuse "otherwise it wouldnt work"

i have no idea where to begin and i seriously dont want to pay the local elec's $88 an hour to fiddle around..

yeah but if u find a good auto elec he will fix it 20min....i dont know one (wish i did!!!)
