so after months of having a non locking rear passenger door i decided to try and fix it...
well it seems that both rear doors arnt locking....thought that was a bit coincidental, but anyway pulled the cover off one and put a new one in.....guess what not working....tried another spare i had and same result - not working... so now i check the power....according to the max ellery diagram it should be 12v on the yellow wire at all times.....nothing!! ive got 12v on the yellow/black instead... this is bizzar, the fronts work fine but the power is on the wrong circuit... any ideas

It is - use a battery charger or whatever, 12v to yellow wire, -ve to either RY or YB line.
Just remember the rear actuators are different from the fronts, they work a*** about, plus the fronts have a 4th wire, an earth. You need to trace your wiring loom back toward the front doors, and find out what' going on - shouldn't be too difficult.

yeah i tested one of the spare rear motors that i had by running a wire from a battery (+ to yellow, - to the other) and it worked fine...
so yeah now i gotta take off the front trims as well... my little 1/2 hour job just got a whole lot bigger!!!! whats got me f...ed is why is the 12v on the wrong wire???

Actually I just remembered that the RY and YB wires do change polarity on unlock/lock - so you will find 12v on one line, 0v on the other.
Possibly you've lost power just on the yellow wire - on the passenger side, the loom branches off at the passengers left foot, so get a pin and probe that wire for voltage. More than likely, you may not need to remove any other door trims.

what it looks like from the diagram is that yellow stays + always and the r-y or y-b act as the earth depending on which way the motor turns...
ive tested the motors in the doors and they are working fine so there must be an issue in the wiring....

So as I say, find out why there is no power in the yellow line first.
If you sort that, I'd suspect it will work.

a little further investigation found this :
the wiring on the plugs has corroded and broken .... has done it on both sides.... so yeah nothing wrong with the motors....never would have guessed it oh yeah and the the yellow wire does have 12v at all times the y-b and r-y alternate between 12v and earth....buggered if i know why it works that way but it does

Hmm, interesting. Well the motor internally sets itself up for the opposite direction - a lot of actuators on aircraft work in a similar fashion.
