hi guys
im curious about the differences in the fuel pumps from ea mpfi to ef. im thinking on swapping my fuel pump over from a ef wreck into my ea. the reason i ask is when i turn the ignition on in my ea the fuel pump takes about 3 seconds to prime before you start. and when its idling you can hear the pump hummmmming.. but in the ef wreck i have the fuel pump takes less than a second to prime. and you cant hear the pump at while the engine is running.. i thought my pump might be on deaths door? also the manual states that the ef Fuel pump flows 240 cc in 10 sec at 275 kPa. and the ea one is 200 cc in 10 sec at 250kpa. or is the regulator that makes the difference? |

it depends on the ea type also....the cfi and mpi are differnt i believe....
i think a ef pump would be fine in a mpi ea yeah and the pressure is controlled by the regulator

i'm running one in my ea troyman along with the el rail & reg ,it primes up alot quicker and i'm fairly sure it's capable of higher flow rates.
when i first went cfi>mpfi i retained the cfi pump and had massive starve issues. then my ea mpfi pump blew one nite at 2 in the morning n had to do a road side pump change before work the next day, fuel guage has never been the same since regulator still governs how much the pump works but thats controlled by vacum..
