ok can someone do me a favor and go to the roh site and tell me if the vapor model is going to fit my car, i have looked at the drift r's and know they make them in pre au offset fitment, but according to the roh site the vapor model is exactly the same fitment, but i cant seem to find hard evidence either then that to support it. i visited the capa site (they deal in roh only) and it says in their option list for the vapor model that it will only go on the au-ba/f models.. any help would be appreciated.. cheers

no i mean were does the figure come from +40 or +20 etc is it mm or just a number assoicated with the hub etc etc as

Offset for PreAU is from +0mm to +6mm. has been said is this the measuremen from the hub to the out side to the edge of the rim

thats right. 0mm being centre of rim +6mm being 6mm out to outside of rim and if you wanted to you could have -6mm which would be 6mm to inside of rim. I haven't heard of -..mm offset but dosen't mean it doesn't exist.

I think the offset refers to the measurement from the
centreline of the rim to the inside fixing face of the wheel
to the hub.

I figure that you can measure the offset of a rim by placing a
straight edge across the inside rim edge and measure to the
fixing face.

ie a pre AU stock 6" rim, with an offset of +6, should measure
82mm to the inside fixing face.

your on the right track there, but make note that a 6" wide rim is more than 6" wide from lip to lip.

Best way is measure lip to lip with tyre removed and halve this measurement.... write it down as measurement "A" for example

Then place a 'straight edge' across the back of the rim and measure from this, to the face where the hub meets the rim. This can be measurement "B"

Now subtract measurment A from B and that is the offset :)
