Meh, the starter motors are practically the same between models.
Actually as far as I know they are interchangeable XP-AU lol....

Haven't they only just now on the BA Mk II finally upgraded the starter motor? The first time since the XD.

The starter motor for the AU is smaller then the EA one, and will fit nicely, just buy a new one, I ahd an AU starter in my XF then put in the EA when I got it.

Yep, can't argue with that, best of both worlds - fords and breasts...
back to the subject at hand - yes XP-AU2 are the same, i dont' know if AU3 is any different, but we supply them, and that's what it reads on the box.
The starter isn't that dear new, as they sell plenty of them, due to the fact they fit so many different models.
I personally wouldn't go to a wrecker to buy one, but i suppose if you got it off an au1 or au2, it is probably alright.

Whats wrong with your current one? With mine it stayed engaged after starting for about 5 secs. This is after many drifting sessions on the farm. To fix it I just pulled it out and greased it up and put it back in, it works a treat now.
