Hi all.
I have just recently bought an AU111 XR8 220. It already has an SS inductions CAI and k&n filter. It also has a single 3' exhaust system. I'v heard from few people that " flowing " the MAF brings on a noticeable power increase....I had a look at it on the weekend and yes it seems to be the case as there is lots of metal across the centre of it.....Has any body done this before and how much metal can you remove?? Any pics??? Also, is it worth while replacing the cat with a high flow unit?? Cheers. Doug |

Its more important for a MAF to be accurate (so that the ECU can get the air fuel ratio right) than it is to flow the max possible amount of air.
You will need some more significant mods before that MAF is any sort of restriction. Having said that, it is possible to modify the MAF, and re-tune the computer so that it is accurate again, but for the effort it would be better just to get a bigger MAF. |
