Hey guys, quick question to save me buying a workshop manual for 1 thing.

I replaced my 4 speed auto with one that doesnt have a dipstick hole in it.

I filled up the box up when I put it in before using it and I want to check it again tonight to make sure the fluid level is okay.

Should I check it when hot or cold?

Hot.
if the car hasnt been run the fluid pools in the pan, as soon as you undo the filler hole you'll cop fluid
(workshop manual just suggests a 5min drive then a chance for it to cool a bit)
