I want to sus out options for a 4-speed (or better) auto behind my 351c. An obvious one is the AOD, but my requirement is mainly for a lower first gear rather than a higher top gear. In any event I think the AOD would be too tall in top, given that my axle ratio is 2.88:1 (Jag XJS) and the AOD top gear ratio is something like 0.7::1 or thereabouts. Any hints?

yeah i was gunna say up your diff ratio...but maybe the ratios are expensive the xjs....

were there any other jag ratios available???
