The wood spears on the doort trims have fallen off and have broken the plastic spikes on the back off.
Should i just use some super glue, or s there a better product or a better method of fixing it? I have done one side wit some glue already, but it has fallen off after a few months. Also it is very hard to get it back in the original positon so that the plugs in the door line up with the wood spear. Any thoughts? cheers BEN

I believe the only solution is to glue it back on. I would suggest using sickaflex or similar. BenJ

i used supa glue on my drivers door and it has been there over a year now. maybe try the gel supa glue as this sits in place a little better while positioning it.

I'm with BenJ, Go the sicka. that s**t's excellent and will stick them on good
 Be careful with it though, once it's on it's almost impossible to get off so cover up your interior and wear gloves as it is black in colour.

i had one of mine fall off ben and i used sikaflex, and it will not come off.
Just be carfull using it dont use too much or it will seep out around it, best way it to make up 3 small blobs of sickaflet on the underside of the spear then hold it into place using masking tape leave to dry over night and most of the next day and your done. you can get sickaflex in white and black, and there is some s**t you buy to remove anything sickaflexed.

Ahh well, i shall have to steal some loctite super glue and some sikeflex from work today

Ben,
Use aquarium silicon as this will stick and it is also removable without causing damage to your trims or doors. Put a few large blobs and then just use standard masking tape to hold overnight till dry. I have also repaired some by building up the back of the spear with Plastibond and holding it against the doortrim till set to shape it. Then drill and tap the Plastibond and you can use small screws to hold it in place. This makes them easily removable. Silicone is the easiest method. Paul |
