Hey guys,
it seems my car (oct 2005 BF Futura Wagon) does not want to recgonise the transponder chip in my keys anymore. The remotes still open the car but when i put the key in the ignition the smartshield light on the dash flashed quickly and i have nothing. How do i program the keys or does it have to go to the ford dealer to get fixed?

does your spare key still work? have you done any work on your car lately? remove anything?

the spare key doesn't work. I called ford roadside assist and i have ot get it towed to a dealer to get it fixed...

hav u just bought it? same problem happend when i bought my ba from the dealer, next day it unlocked i went to start it and wouldnt even turn. called raa and ended up being a flat battery. all lights in the car would work,radio and would lock and unlock so i thought the same thing. and smartshield was flashing.

i have had it since may last year. was a demo car with 6970 kms on the clock. I have had a couple other problems with it unfortunately.

The boot latch was intermittently failing so i would have to press the unlock button while slamming my boot to get it shut, was fixed under warranty.

The lil plastic bump on the middle rear seatbelt broke off so when i layed the back seat down too far the seat belt retracted too much and got stuck down, the whole seatbelt had to be replaced coz the plastic thing isn't a spare part on its own, once again was fixed under warranty.

you will be pleased to know the boot latch is now and updated part so it wont do it again, and the seat belt is not a common issue.
