Gday,
I have a 383 clevo running a large hyd cam 4v valves, manley springs with a lot of clamping force (cant remember the numbers). It will be spun to about 6000 and fed 10PSI-ish. The thing is, I asked my mechanic at the time about procomp gear and he said it would be fine....but since Iv got the motor finished Im feeling a little uneasy about the procomp roller rockers. The last thing I need is to have little bits of rocker swimming around. Everything else in the motor is top notch. The motor has not been started yet. What have people found with procomp rockers? Should I go and get a set of crane golds or Yella Terras? Cheers, Matt

As indicated they are junk.
Don't risk it and go get some Crane Golds. |

I'd take them off and run a set of Crane Golds myself.

hi,i have a mild 351c,crane solid f246 and all the good bits with yella terra roller rockers. i did around 8000km before a rocker let go and caused damage to my engine, needle rollers went into the sump, thru the oil pump pickup and siezed the pump, snapped dizzy drive and broke the rollmaster timing chain at the same time ,3 manley valves were bent aswell. i was only cruising at the time too (100kph 3000rpm). i would go the best i could afford next time, also might put some mesh in the valley drains too.

Thanks for the replys. Im looking at getting a set of crower stainless rockers with a good set of hardened pushrods and the Ford motorsport nylon bushed rod guides. They are expensive rockers but I have only heard good things.
I like the idea of mesh in the valley. I'll take a look when I take the manifold off.
