How much would it cost for a new harmonic balancer as mine is coming adrift,
how much to buy and how much to get it installed, is it a easy job?, just the radiator and all done from the front ? thanks |

I don't know what car you have but I got one for a XF from repco for about $50 exchange but that was a while ago now though.
The rad definatley & probably the a/c evaporator (regas) as well |

Will also need crankshaft seal for the timing case, cost roughly 15 bucks i just went through all this, and the mechanic f**k the crank thread using the puller, as the new balancer was a very tight fit. Had to take it somewhere else and cost nearly 200 to fit the new balancer plus get the thread re-tapped Something you gotta watch out for, as they will say it was already like that. I would pay someone else to do it as it can be a bit of f**k around, should only them less than an hour if all goes sweet. Only the fans have to come out, everything else is okay |

I got told the other day that it would be roughly 2-3 hours work and they'd have to rip out the radiator to do it on my ea. Turned out it was just the aircon pulley gone dodge.

yeah ripping out the radiator gives more room for the puller, but you dont have to. Regardless, anything over an hour quote is s**t and its very typical of a rip-off mechanic to give you that quote I watched the bloke remove my old balancer in 15 minutes, and if it wasnt for the f**k crank thread, they wouldve put the new one on roughly the same amount of time |
