Hey guys, I have searched, i promise, just couldnt find what i was looking for.

hypothetically speaking (), if i were to be looking for a new clutch for a t5, and i was happy to run something that is stock in terms of power handling and weight, how much $$ would i be looking at?

And where would i get one from?

Cheers,
Nic

Valeo are cheaper. Standard exedy clutches for 8s cost around $400-450.

I paid $365 delivered (I think...might be getting confused with some other stuff I have bought) for a new clutch kit including new spigot bearing from Hightek Brakes.

That kit was supposed to make the clutch seem a little bit heavier but I found it to be quiet soft and better then the stock. It is a performance clutch, but I think it was worth the money...

You can get an Xtreme clutch kit like I have. It seems to do its job very well now and the clutch pedal is much smoother then the stock one I had in before, which was pretty stuffed up. The clamp load is meant to be 20% - 60% more then standard, so it should feel heavier if you have a healthy old clutch cover. You can get a heavy duty one as well but I reckon that's a bit overkill especially with the weak pedal box and firewall (mine aren't reinforced).

There are other brands out there but I haven't driven a car with them on personally...and I forget their names. So all in all, I am happy with the Xtreme clutch kit :D.

EDIT:  I meant Xtreme clutch kit not Exedy...buggeroo

Hey Hey it the week for everyones clutchs LOL
mine started slipping on the way home from work lol so im looking for new clutch as well.

has anyone tryed this clutch off ebay? it got a 10 puk Ceramo mettalic Clutch Plate.

What do you guys think???? work the money or keep looking? i can live with my slipping clutch i've only been using the clutch when i set off at lights. I find it easy to drive around without using the clutch and don't bother me about synchro's cause i plan to rebuild it in the next few months anyhow.

and if your still after a clutch "nicco"

you might find this one to your liking

Jason, i dunno, there is something about buying parts like that off ebay which kinda scares me!

and the reason my question was hypothetical at the start is I am looking at buying a manual conversion. but the one i have made an offer on has no clutch, so i wont be buying anything straight away.

cheers heaps for all your help guys
