Hi all
Recently put a high series cluster in my EL. I have chosen not to wire up the door sensors. Does anyone know what I can do with the door sensor wires so the cluster stops flashing the doors and fuel cap as if they were open? I thought it'd be a simple matter of earthing them out but it seems that they work on resistance. Thanks |

You will need a resistor on each to stop them. THe value escapes me at present. You can use any fairlane ones from NA onwards so most wreckers will have them.

When i installed the sensors into my Fairmont, i measured the resistance across the sensor and i think closed (sensor button in) was 180 ohms, and open (sensor button out) was 1.2 Kilo ohms.
EDIT: Just checked in the tech document, those figures were correct. |
