600 is where it should be. You have fitted a AU head to a EL engine. Contry to commen beleif on this site it will cause problems. Like you would expect in any major engine change. However this sounds like the XR Ecu cant controll the IAC. Or the TPS is out of alignment. Have you run the car with the XR ecu in Diagnostics mode ? |

ok this is only an idea.....
disconnect the plug going to the Idle solenoid on top of the throttle body. When you start the car it will not hold idle, so bump up the throttle body screw on the side till it holds idle at around 800rpm. Before you turn the screw, mark it so you know what position it was in before. Now once it holds idle with the ISC disconnected put it in gear and see if it drops to 400 again, if it doesnt then you know the isc is too blame Dont forget to turn the screw back to where it was and reconnect the isc plug |

Short the left hand Diagnostic connectors top and bottom pins out then start the engine.
After a little while the engine will idle hunt. thats the isc test if after 5 mins you dont get a idle hunt somthings wrong with the output. It may not be the ISC valve you may have a damaged harness or stuffed ECU |
