Guys ive just pulled my dash apart and got the instrument cluster out and have no idea how to get the blubs out so i can put the leds in. ive already taken the needles off n re-coloured them so the blue will show through. can the blubs be swiched in the back of the cluster or do i need to take the four little phillips head screws out that are behind the gauge faces (into the actual gauges) so i can pull out the plastic thing the light shines through to change them from the front??????

ive done an unsuccessful search i swear

i also printed out the "neon blue dash" Tech Doc but it doesnt go into that much detail (probably cause im a dumb s**t n cant work something out thats probably realy simple  )

any help would be greatly appreciated 8-)

The bulbs come out of the back just turn the bulb holders anti-clock wise (i think) and they will click and you can pull them out. Hope this helps

to remove the orange i just scraped at it with a realy sharp knife (moving the blade opposite to how you would usually cut something) then i used white out to paint the back of the needles. i found the best way to do it was to put a realy big blob in the edge of a peice of paper, then slide the needle down it, thickest to thinest. This gave a realy even covering and you could swear it came from the factory like that. 8-) (the 1st few times you do it you may get a bit up the sides of the needle but thats easy enough to scrape off the same way as you scrape off the orange stuff  )

Observe the globes you remove, some are soldered together.

I think the Black holders have replaceable globes.
as well as the White ones with (the blue condom on it)

The Blue holders are spot welded in.

either way both holders will work, one requires breakage to utilize!

^^^^Correct, the light blue ones will need some instrument screwdrivers to lever the side contacts out - the bulb wires are crimped to them.

Thanks guys

yeah i fugured that out after i broke one of the bulbs :P it was a real b**ch to do it properly easy, but time consuming

i had to lever out the bulb and side fins(or what ever there called)
then cut the bulb out using pliers,
then i had to put the side fins back in the blue clip
and fiddle around until i got the leds in correctly
then i had to solder the led wires onto the side fins (through a gap about 5mm wide) :P

they look so awsome now though it was totally worth the few hrs to put them in :) some of the setups ive seen on here a dull but mine are really bright. Brighter than the standard bulbs.. ill post a photo when the cameras back at home (the gf has it).

thank you to the people that helped by answering my stupid questions
