Trying to get the top half of the BBM in my EF off but the bolts which require an allen key are so tight even the power drill won't budge them, lol. Anyone who has removed it, how the f*%k did you loosen the bolts?

buy the correct allen key bit for a socket wrench with an extension so you can turn it

Or get a long thin tube that can fit over the allen key to use as leverage, that was, either you will loosen the bolt or the allen key will snap (which would indicate it isn't strong enough to get the job done)

I just used an allen key with a long tube over it for leverage. They were tight but nothing broke. Then i used allen keys with a T bar handle to get em out or would have taken ages!

Trust me...get a set of allen keys for a socket wrench as someone mentioned, it's a b**ch with just an allen key. An you might have to get a new gasket for the BBM while you are at it.

Thanks guys, got them out with a tube and allen key, gotta love leverage. Bloody hell there are a lot of bolts, lol. I think the metal gasket should be fine to re-use. Also there is quite a bit of oil in the manifold.

I personally would use a new one unless you can't get one from somewhere, but that's just me. You can clean the oil up, if you want, though it'll just build up again over time. I can't remember what causes this or if it's normal...I found some oil on my manifold too. phong =P~

Use ACL Hylomar to reuse the tin gasket. When undoing those allen socket cap screws, give them a wack with a punch first.
