Hi,

Looks like I might be using this sight a lot as I am so green to this stuff and never had a ford before.

I need new shockies and bushes for front and back. The mechanic said he used kyb.. Not Monroe. He has quoted me $1200 to do the job with wheel alignment. sounds ok or to dear?

sounds pretty steep to me.

If He's not putting in springs, and most likey only a few bushes at the front I'd say 500-700 would be the ball park.

Front Struts $200
Rear Shocks $100
Lower arm Bushes, 180 c/o

+ labour / alignment.

Find out what else there is ie: tie rod ends, sway bar bushes, rear upper/lower bushes etc.

I'd strongly advise to go to pedders and get a $14 safety suspension check.

Sounds pretty (EDIT: I meant expensive) to me... I had pedders SR shocks springs (low) and bushes (plus camber kit, rear toe adjustment and power steering service) fitted for about $1850 last year.

Absolutely, worth $14 to find out for sure what needs doing...

Low_efii,

Now that's what I would like to pay. But being a woman, I think mechanics target my vulnerability.

I cant justify $1k on shockers alone with a few bushes.

You could possibly rebuild the whole lot for that price,

Take it to Pedders and well see what they say.

Sure a few people will kick around $1500+ figures for Lowered springs heavy duty shocks camber kit and polyurethane bushes,

Tell the shop ya older brother told you to get a check done here and make up some s**t story about his friends car was done here and they were honest and cheap blah blah...

Throw in a few cash hints and when they tell you a price/damage report tell em you'll be back in a few minutes while you call him! (ie: thats the best price yeh?

:)

Well I got quoted, KYB adjustable shocks (yellow) all round, with low King springs and whiteline front sway bar for $1500 for parts only. I'd say $1800 installed.

So the price you got quoted is too bloody much as everyone else has said. Now that you know what that person is charging as well as what you need done, try calling up some other places and getting quotes.

phong =P~

Ive been quoted for boge shock's front and back with king springs low for $990.00 installed or $740.00 for parts.

and if i wanted the above plus a full rebush of the car it would cost $2100.00 installed
