my ED auto fuel consump. is 12lt/100km city, and 9 lt/100 km hwy. i've spoken to a few ford nuts and they've said u can get better fuel figures with aftermarket cam and head mods cause the stock cam was pretty ordinary. JMM claimes 9.8 lt/100km 'city' with their DEV 4 kit. does anyone have other cam specs and EXACT fuel and HP figures on their E series. No guesstimates thanks, fat
.... has anyone got a 3.28 diff and get better city economy?

if you are worried about fuel consumption buy a car with a smaller motor. or put the ED on Gas.

I agree with fordfairmont.
Fords feed the engines with a lot of fuel standard. By adding intake, exhaust/extractor, cam etc. the engine gets more efficiant & burns all the fuel which means more hp & economy without going overboard. With intake, cam, exctractors etc. my car gave me more fuel economy an extra 50-70 kms more with heaps more power.

Sound's like you were the cause of the increase in fuel consumption

hahaha sometimes i think so, but its really hard to get economy out of my car. With the short gearing it has, you have to give it half-throttle everywhere just to get the car to move. only have just recently fitted a stock cam, and fuel usage has dropped from as high as 22L with the 977b cam, down to 16.5L.... this is no matter how easy i go on it. |

yeah cant say cams made it better my head is ported to 365hp and run a nice big billet 550Lift intake exhaust and 220 at 50 duration economy went from about 12.5 around town and 9 on the freeway to about 23L around town and 10.5 on the freeway lol
